New Header

A New Header for the new year to come . Thanks to "Leela" for designing it.

Fikar Not

Hi friends today we celebrate the First Anniversary of our beloved "Fikar Not ." We were at this place last year today and there were some very sweet memories. To quote one of the incidents where mamme almost got drowned in the river flowing alongside. The best part in the incident was Neta's laugh and one of the most pic of his that we clicked there. He behaved truley to the tradition of "Fikar Not " by not worrying [:)]. Incidentally my profile pic of the blog was also clicked there. The best part was that we carried on the name and linked through it , so at the advent of a new year let's pledge to keep the name high and "May Our Firendship see many happy moments for time to come"

Highway Star

Biking has always been a passion and so was another such experience @ Pondi especially because after a long time had a female pillion. Best thing about biking is that you could explore places and so did we explore an isolated Auroville Beach. The lunch was something to mention about as we walked out of two restaurants due to exactly opposite reasons I suppose. The tea shop at the Rock beach was costly but the experience was worth it. Over all a great day from all worries.

Merry Xmas everybody.

Black an White

Homo sapiens are provided with the capability of choosing between either good or evil. The development of good or evil in a human being depends on various factors, such as bio-genetic and social influences. The most influential of them include parental care, community they belong to, character formation etc. Right from the beginning leaders have tried to direct the human race in the path of righteousness. Good examples include the ten commandments of Moses in the Old Testament, the Greek scholars’ quest for knowledge and virtue, the teachings of Buddha in the east, and so on.

The very purpose of every religion is cultivating human values and moral values. All religions propound that human beings will be rewarded according to their deeds. Religions also encourage them to choose good by instilling the fear of horrible punishments for evil doers. Whereas, they assure that the reward for virtuous people will be of eternal happiness and glory. These religions are mystical by nature and are based upon the revelations made by supernatural beings at different times to good people.

There has been an intense research on the psyche of human beings and the existence of supernatural beings. Science does have some sort of explanation for the behavior of human kind, but it was more of serendipity than an intentional research. Psychologists have been trying to figure out the capabilities and intentions of human mind. Sigmund Freud a well-known scientist proposed the theory of Id, ego, and super ego as the three levels of human mind.

Id is said to be animal instinct present in the human beings, after all they are social animals. This characteristic of humans is the basis of all evil and immoral activities. Ego on the other hand is the one that instigates the human values and moral values hidden in the human mind. It is said that every moral lesson taught by the leaders arouse out of ego. Super ego is the best part of the human soul which makes him a saint. It makes him realize the difference between the permanent and the temporal things. This is the base of religions that try to transform the animal instinct of id in every human being to the highest state of super ego.

Almost every religion has a story that elucidates the war between good and evil. Every war between the good and evil at last ends with a triumphant victory for the good. Every establish government on earth has its own laws to punish evil doers. However, still crime and criminals do exist in abundance. It is impossible to create a utopian world with great human values and moral values because both evil and good resides in the heart of human kind. It is the responsibility of every human being to suppress the evil and grow the good within them.

Finding Cube Root

Found a very interesting method to find cube roots may be this will be useful.
Memorize This:

With them you can find any two-digit cube root. For example, what's the cube root of 12,167?

1. Express the number in six digits (012167). Take the first three digits (012) and compare them to the blue cubes above. Find the largest cube that's less than your three-digit string, and write down its root. Here, 012 is between 8 and 27, so we write down 2.

2. Match the last digit of the number (7) to the last digit of a blue cube above (here, 27). Write down the root of that number (3).

That's it. Put the two digits together (23) and that's your root: 233 = 12,167.

This works for any perfect cube between 1,000 and 1 million.

Number System

Well our curriculum is really great. One is taught in the first lesson of mathematics about numbers and the number line. But only one thing is not made clear that that all that matters is your number line.Sometimes I really feel that the definition of life must be changed in fact it must be renamed as Number System . All through out our lives we will be running after numbers ( Academics, Salary , Population, GDP , Sensex,Status).

It's very appropriate to redefine and change the term to " Number System".

Studs

Some things in life make you really crazy, may be for me the are these footer studs.A very small thing in my life but wearing it gives me energy. No matter how tired I may be but a game of footer is always on the cards.

So goes the story of this footer stud. Was running out of money in Delhi and still had to buy one of those. Finally found this in a shop at Sarojini Market. Was fun playing in Delhi for the whole summer. Then it travelled with me to my home where another two weeks of football was played. The last part was in Chennai where I played a lot of football even winning an intra hostel tournament.

Yesterday I saw a big hole and realized that the end has come. But it was such a loving memory that I couldn't help writing about it.

Cultivating Human Values

We are in many ways similar to animals considering the fact that we sleep, eat food, fear and procreate. But what sets us apart is our ability to think. Einstein said that he was startled by two things the most: 1.Starry heaven 2. Human mind. What is important in our thinking is to incorporate moral values in us. For example consider a set of zeros, there is no value to it even if we have hundreds of zeros , but nay digit put before the zero adds value to it. We are sets of zeros and our moral values adds values to us.

Values are to be pondered upon seriously. Many a times we neglect things considering it to be of no value. A perfect example of this can be cited as : consider that there is a dead buffalo , it may be of no value to us but a tanner knows its value. He gets the leather and sells it in market to make money . The purchaser in turn sells it to a factory. The factory makes out chappals from it and these are put at display in showrooms. In the whole process there is a value addition. So is the case with man ,moral values adds value to his personality.

Martin Luther King had said " Along with education there should be ethics." It is so important that even N.C.E.R.T. is introducing value education all through out the new curriculum.Values in education is something very fundamental. During the second world war there were doctors who used to inject poison to millions of Jews.Chemistry does not teach to make bombs.A revolver in a soldiers hand is of value but imagine a dacoit carrying a revolver.Moral values are much about perspective. In order to make it clear let's consider this : Two ladies are chatting
First " My son is so unlucky. His wife is so lazy and he has to do all the work in home."
Second " what about your daughter? "
First " Oh! she is so lucky , his husband is good he does all the work in house."

Punctuality is a value, honesty is a value and even manual work is a value. But there are many values which are very important in our lives.

Integrity of character: It is about being reliable, truthful and consistent. Sri Rama Krishna has said " Truthfulness is the austerity of the sage." A truthful person will be careful about his promises.

Humility

Shanti: Shanti comes from forgiveness.A weak person cannot forgive because it is the act of the brave.

Non- Violence: It is of three types
1. Krita- Do yourself
2. Karita- Make someone do it.
3. Anumodita- Approve someone who has done it.
Violence and non-violence should be seen in a flexible manner. Sometimes violence is non- violence.Even Mahatma Gandhi injected poison to his calf so that it may be relieved from pain. Even Geeta states " Ahimsa Parmodharma." Mental non-violence (absence of jealousy ) is a real test of non-violence.

Love: It is considered highest among the values. But love implies love towards God and not self centered love.Love is of three types:
1. 2 people love each other as they both gain from it.
2. You love me I love you.
3. I love you even if you dont.
When you love God it is selfless love.

Purity of Life: Brahmacharya , respect for others, restrict our desires, sense of seeking pleasure. As per Sanatan Dharma sexual craving should be controlled and there should be purity of conduct and mind.

To conclude a short story: A guru once asked his disciples " When do you know the sun has Risen?"
1> I identify an animal and if i can distinguish whether it is cow or goat.
2> I see various plants and if i can distinguish mango tree from a neem.
3> I seek a person who i know and see whether I can recognize him.
The Guru replied" When you look at any man an realize he is your brother, when you look at any woman and realize she is your sister ,Sun has risen.

Book Review

The Inscrutable Americans
By: Anurag Mathur

I would categorize this book as a Masala book and mostly fall to the types of "Five Point Someone " and "One Night At Call Center ".Read the whole book on a train and was so captivating that I completed it in one sitting.
The story centers around an average Indian who goes to U.S. for his studies. Like any other Indian he was stuck with this Indian principals and the U.S. open habits was considered a TABOO for him. He meets a helping friend in US who opens new avenues for him and exposes him to a completely glamorous world. From being a vegetarian, non -alcoholic and virgin (very uncommon in US for someone of his age ) he attains entirely great feats in these fields.
Overall a time pass book handy to read on a long journey totally filled with fun and frolic.

Me: To bol deta na usko
X: Yaar pichle baar sach bola tha usne mana kar diya aur agar is baar bhi sach bola to kahin mana na kar de.Yaar jab bhi jhoot bola hun ladki pati hai be .

Me:Kyoun?
X: Jhoot bol kar ladki patana aasaan hai be .

Me: To bata de na usko kya problem hai ?
X: iske chakkar mein mujhe sare affairs band karne padenge , isliye mujhe lag raha hai ki isko pack marun ya nahin.

Me: tujhe kya lagta hai uska kya stand hai ?
X: Yaar sahi lag raha hai sab , bus stand par bhi she was searching me and poore time kaha ki mujhe accha lag raha hai tumhare saath.

Literature

I wished this was my English ( humanities ) slot because I am learning literature and the strategy to play literature. If you are confused I am talking about card game Literature which i learned today in Alak. Completed the syllabus in around fifteen minutes and believe me one game takes more time to play than the time I had to spend in the course.
Want to play join sometime in my room and preferably with a pack of cards.

Have You?

A friend of mine was paining me "You should do somethings for the first time in your life."Here are somethings which happened to me but incidentally are uncommon.

SO HAVE YOU....

Sat in a packed general compartment of train for 3 days not even moving once from your seat.

Played football during the breaks of FIITJEE AITS(All India Test Series)

Cycled 150 km in a day.

Had food in restaurant and had no money to pay.

Have been whacked regularly in your 10 th standard.

Have been close to being expelled in school thrice.

Did not even opened your notebook before a quiz.

Bunked school and played cricket in the neighborhood for the whole day.

Traveled on top of a bus.

Failed in your 12 th mock exams in Physics and Chemistry and still cleared JEE.

Voted when you were 6.

Chased by traffic police insanely.

Fallen in love with the same girl thrice.

On Football & Life

There are some things which bring a smile on your face , for me its football. I remember watching all the green grounds in Goa and telling Mamme "Yaar yeh dream ground hai be ".The small footer fields you would see if you are coming from Calcutta to kharagpur are so inviting . But the best was the football ground at MDI Gurgaon , for one instance I thought I will study here for the field . As far as football goes I was lucky . I have been playing the game non stop including the summer interns.I still remember being defeated by kids in Goa and the games at IIT Delhi where I used to play as right winger.
There are very moments in life when you feel that you gave in everything you had .Ya that's the feeling when you take the game seriously. When the inter wing tournament started there was only one thing , one goal and that was winning.May be that determination helped us pull out matches in which we were lagging behind. To quote "“Football Is an honest game. It's true to life . It's a game about sharing. Football is a team game. So is life.”
I played my last inter wing tournament today and I am happy that i won it. But happiness, results outcomes are small things .We played the game in the spirit it had to be played. The scenario was great , lights , wing mates and the hostel cheering. It was dream final and I can still feel adrenalin pumping.
What followed was something I will carry for the rest of my life .A send off by the team and wing mates and claps all around . I had a day of my life today .
Next dream is "Schroeter Gold".

Dont Drink and Derive

“If you think dogs can’t count, try putting three dog biscuits in your pocket and then giving Fido only two of them.”
-Phil Pastoret

Gravitation cannot be held responsible for people falling in love. How on earth can you explain in terms of chemistry and physics so important a biological phenomenon as first love? Put your hand on a stove for a minute and it seems like an hour. Sit with that special girl for an hour and it seems like a minute. That's relativity.

Book Review

Book : The Fountainhead
Author: Ayn Rand
Written by Ayn Rand in 1943 , a total classic which has enthralled me . In fact the book has traveled a long way since it has been published . It has been included as a course book in many universities and lots of review books are there in the market. Not only this a movie dedicated to this book has been made .

Rightly so the book has been named fountainhead because it signifies that "Man's ego is the fountainhead of human progress."
The book argues that how every change to the society has been brought by sacrifice and lots of pain. When man first discovered fire he was considered as a evildoer but subsequently it became a tool of their progress . So was the case with wheel and any new venture . Through out the centuries there were men who took first step down new roads armed with nothing but their own vision. So is the story of the protagonist of this novel " Horward Roark ."His fight against the whole lot of architects, press and common man who cannot take new changes as it comes. A philosophical book which is bound to bear an impact on you. A must read for every one.

Fart Ki Jai Ho

Today climbing the stairs to my room I was accompanied by Mama. In fact most of the times whenever some dual is with me he cribs about the top floor and i generally have my part of fun with them. So was it , he was complaining about the pain when you have to climb so many times a day .

I replied " Mama jante ho humne top floor kyoun liya , isliye ki aapko humesha ehsaas rahe ki bilkul neeche se sabse upar uthne ke liye kitna pain lena padta hai "

Life On The Other Side

The placement season has begun and so has the loads of ppts . It was in one such workshop organized by Delloite that I realized something . The speaker was a XLRI gold medalist and he did make the boring topic of emotional intelligence quite interesting . I don't know how much the workshop was useful but there was something which made me write this post .There was some 3 questions which we had to answer at one go writing out the first thought that comes to your mind .

When do you feel the most happy ?
My ans : While playing footer .

When do you feel embarrassed ?
My ans : Whenever I visit my village .

Now wait a moment how did this thought come to me ? Then I thought ya it should have come . I belong to a remote village in Bihar . I left it to pursue my studies when I was very young. But I still have friends there who were not luckier like me . It was not luck but poverty that kept them there . To say the village boasts of a primary school but sometimes there are no teachers or when there are teachers there are no books. The contradiction is strange , Children in town at a particular age start exploring malls , mobiles , amusement parks and childhood ends for some in villages.Either they help parents in the fields or work in quarrys in near by towns , or a small line hotel . Then what happens is hard to think of . Their life becomes stagnant , monotonous and the most shocking thing is they never have no other option. It is really sick when i meet some of my village friends and find that they are waiters in some hotel. Then the realization, the embarrassment comes in . All the education seems worthless at a juncture . How can the system be so cruel that lives of millions of people remains pathetic all through their lives . Some serious thoughts then creep in . Is it worth the effort , are we contributing anything to the society .May be its getting late . It is not something that i can do alone but ya I will certainly make a start.

Eating Out

" The no of times you dine out is directly proportional to the Semester you are in ."

Eating habits have changed so much in the last 4 years for me. There was a time when I never missed mess food. Gradually I started packing Friday dinner and now the no of times I eat outside is more than the times I eat in mess.

It was Onam today and I had a strange idea of eating in a mallu restaurant . I asked my conti's and reached a place called "Kumarakom".This is situated very close to vijanagar bus stand velachery and very close to IIT .However the place was too full with lot's of people waiting . As I was very hungry so I decided to find other destinations . I was amazed to find out so many hangouts in the road connecting taramani to vijaynagar bus stand . I had an idea of the place called Khana Makaan and decided to grub there. The food was as usual great . On my way back I was amazed to find a chain of food outlets like The Dhaba , Dominos , Kebabs hi kebabs ,and many more on a single road .

So if you are planning to eat out and a place not very far from college just pick up your cycles and come on this road , you are bound to find a good place to eat . Meanwhile you can always in invite me .

Next destination on my list is Punnu da Dhaba Thoraipakkam, Old Mahabalipuram Road, Chennai.

Teachings Buddha

A myriad bubbles were floating on the surface of a stream. 'What are you?' I cried to

them as they drifted by. 'I am a bubble, of course' nearly a myriad bubbles answered,

and there was surprise and indignation in their voices as they passed. But, here and

there, a lonely bubble answered, 'We are this stream', and there was neither surprise

nor indignation in their voices, but just a quiet certitude.

Serendipity

Confusion about the exam timings and center . Came to know at the last moment about the exam venue and schedule. Then the fight to reach on time in scorching heat. The cycle chain gave up twice and still i somehow i managed to reach the main gate. Then the fight for bus . Somehow manged to get a shared auto . And so i reached the center ,had to wash my greased hands . Found a toilet but was not sure whether it was a boys or girls , went it washed my hand as fast as possible and came out because it was a girls toilet.

And after so much fight was sitting on the bench waiting for the exam paper to be distributed . Gosh... Wtf ...Shit ... am I in a dream , no way there she came in . We were meeting after 5 years .

The Treat and 50 th post

Eating in Chennai has always been an adventure for the fact that there are a very few North Indian Outlets . Just was the case when I found a new place called Khana Makaan. The flavor is much like the food we get in dhabas of Delhi. It had the usual heavy spiced and fried punjabi fare. But the ambience was not the traditional khatiyas you would find in the Dhabas but non the less the purpose was same , resting and chilling out . Though the Ganga Roof top was famous for other stuffs but we made the best use of it for having a dinner with the wing . The food was delivered to the hostel room . We made the best use of Economic Times newspaper and the contraption for lighting the candle was awesome. A special mention of doodh for suggesting the idea of dinner in hostel and thanks to dilli , baba for making the candle light possible.
And so here was it a candle night dinner with the loved ones in open and a pleasant breeze . Well I made a mistake as i ordered more food than required . In fact there was so much food that we had to invite our juniors and still they couldn't finish it .
Dining together has become just a bridge to share our memories . We are so busy in our daily works that we get very less time to introspect but these are the moments when we talk about small things and laugh . This is the feeling of love and among us and all the best moments shared among us .
Sometime it feels that time is running out and the importance of these days in life can not be expressed in words.Happy that this had to be my 50 th post ,may the 100 post be again about "FIKAR NOT."

Motor Cycle Diaries

A childhood story about an unplanned journey had inspired me so much and I have tested it so many times to success that now it appears to me a common experience but for those who are in habit of planning their trips, here is an opportunity of adventure. All you have to do is carry a traveling gear and preferably your own mode of transport and the best if you have a bike. For bikers it is advisable to have an extra tube, tool kit, wind shitter Gloves, Proper rear view mirror, Brake shoes tested and other things according to the road conditions. Don’t carry any eatables as eating out on a roadside dhaba is a real treat.

It was in one of these unplanned excursions that I went out on a 100km bike trip with moli bhai. Normally on a rainy day it is expected to go out on a car but I chose against it. Jharkhand can boast of so many waterfalls and especially Ranchi (once a summer capital of Bihar) has 4 well known waterfall. In spite of this I did go for a waterfall but just a bike trip on the highway. I had done this many times alone and to have moli as a pinion was really great. It was raining all throughout the journey and maybe it was the most ideal condition for biking .The valley looked more beautiful and the volumes of fresh oxygen was refreshing . Best part was stopping at various places and feeling the beauty of the place. There were many beautiful places on the way and few kilometers from the highway. One of these was Rukka Dam built on the Subarnrekha River. We sat on the banks of the river and the beauty around was mesmerizing. I remember Moli saying many times that he needed a SLR to capture the beauty .We stopped twice on the roadside dhaba and will never forget the taste of the tea that was served there .. I remember saying to him “ Yaar moli bhai poora bhingne ke baad hi chai ka maja hai , jindigi hai be”

The lasts

So finally I come to an end of a chapter of my life . It was the last summer with my beloved friends and also a happy memory of many new friends I made here . Last time I entered the college I was doing project in. Especially it is the last night here and I am not happy about being in home . Well I dont have much creativity to write a song like " Summer of 69 " but I tell you it was much more than that . I just partied with my friends mamme and antenna and about the last time I will be sleeping in this airy room of IITD. So here is the last season , every thing I will be doing in the Insti will be for one but last time .

Here is the pic of my college and I was standing there for one last time .

And another one of the dhabas , the last of the cold drinks and ice creams.

I am happy the last footer game here ended with the rain dance and more happy join my team mates at my home.

And so here is it
Tomorrow will be the last day when I look through my window and the last time i step out of the hostel with my bags packed .
And then it will be the end , a total end to a happy phase of life .

And how can i forget my beloved friends Mamme and dilli without whom the whole summers would have been tasteless.

Joy

Sometimes small things can bring us so much happiness. I have been playing football here in the IITD ground for sometime now. Its fun to play here in the lush green ground and most importantly stud junta. So it was another day of football and almost at the end of the play it started raining heavily . It was a welcome rain as it had been quite hot and humid for the whole month. We danced , played and just skidded in the rain . It was great fun . These are the moments that define freedom , pleasure and may be this is life . Finding pleasures in small things is becoming a habit . The natural beauty of the field in the rain was awesome ,all it requires is appreciating it . And then the 2 km run back to the hostel was worth the effort . It was freedom just bathing in the rain and running with so many friends .One of the beautiful evenings of my life .

Shantaram

Much read and said about the book and after reading it seems everything is true. The whole story is great .Its about love , friendship, faith and above all its about our country . I thought I knew my country well but after reading the book have changed my mind . Shantaram has presented his thoughts profoundly . So here I would like to quote 3 of the paragraphs which were really great.

"My dear friend , you can stand to eat a meal- if you must- and you can stand to make love -if you are able - but it is impossible to stand and drink whisky. It is the act of a barbarian. A man who stands up to drink a noble alcohol like whisky , in all but a toast to some noble thing or purpose , is a beast - a man who will not stop at nothing.

"When you put a lot of money , new and old , into one room- millions of rupees counted twice and snapped into bundles with rubber bands - it stinks- . I like money Didier once said to me but i hate the smell of it . The more happiness i get from it , the more throughly i have to wash my hands afterwards.

"There is no man , and no place , without war . The only thing we can do is choose a side , and fight . That is the only choice we get -who we fight for , who we fight against . That is life.

And last but not least this line from the book is really great "everyone in the whole world , Karla once said , was Indian in at least one past life. "

This one is the view from my room. There are no bars on the window and so leaning out of the window and feeling the fresh air has become a favorite habit . Especially when it rains u can almost touch it . I love this view too much and so keeping this pic as a memoir.

Being positive

I was standing in queue at the SBI bank today . Nothing to do much when you are standing in a long line. There was a give up boy standing with a decent girl as is the case I have noticed umpteen times. So the regular cursing and the same give up feeling.

But suddenly I saw a deaf and dumb chai wala serving tea to the officials. He was famous there as some of the staff were talking to him through signs . The best part of this guy was his large smile .Even you can say a lots about people seeing their smile .So was his a whole hearted smile . He was happy I confess and much happier than many of us. This is all about happiness its within and in the hearts . You need to positive and happy about things .His smile made me understand the character Prabhakar in Shantaram. He really made my day.

So the moral is try harder , be positive and you will also have a girl friend.

Its life

Well spare me guys of all the spelling mistakes and grammatical mistakes because i am a bit sober and so is my beloved friend mamme.

Actually this is life or may be for me this is life .There have been people whom i have met all through my life and somehow they have had a lasting experience on my life .

So first of all there was a girl named Neha ( Polu ), I spent my childhood with her and also remember saying her those 3 magical words but that was childhood. Then in my school life another girl Afrina . I confess i loved her maybe because she was so close to me , may be we laughed together, cried together and may be i owe all my biology drawings to her . Then was the class of DPS where 25 out of 54 qualified in iit including a 88 th rank from class. May be my being an iitian is all because of the confidence being in that class . And then I met Fikar Not in IIT . This will be something i will carry all through my life , friends i can't forget you .

Taj Mahal

This place is heaven man .Do visit once in a life time .

India Gate

If you have to see India i recommend visit India Gate. You can find so many people here of different castes , tribes , language and class. In fact the structure is rightly called India gate because this is India a country of 200 hundred languages and billions of people but all are a single unit . It is places like these where you see the true picture of India .Even in this small place you can hear so many languages , variety of culture and the rich and poor all together

.
I dont know why I am so attracted to this place , may be because everything about this place is inviting .Even all the hustle - bustle can not malign the sacredness of the place . The Amar Jawan Jyoti is a small homage to the soldiers who gave their life in the first world war .These lines are written on the top of the huge gate " To the dead of the Indian armies who fell honoured in France and Flanders Mesopotamia and Persia East Africa Gallipoli and elsewhere in the near and the far-east and in sacred memory also of those whose names are recorded and who fell in India or the north-west frontier and during the Third Afghan War." .The place symbolizes the burning pride which the billions of Indians have for their country .
The beauty of the place is mesmerizing . Surrounded by lush green fields and a small lake the structure stands tall on the busy streets of Delhi . The gubbarwalas makethe place very colorful. The toy parachute vendors make the whole sky blue at times and small kids run madly to get hold of these parachutes. Ah and what to say of the food , Ice creams ,pani pooris , bhel poori ,chat ,chanachoor and on and on . But if you get chance must try the Kala Khatta flavour of the ice candy (thanks to mamme ).Even you can get a painting of yourself very cheap provided you have some time . One of the most fascinating things you can find is the very old cinema clips of 5 to 10 minutes projected with the old technology of the 60's.
Overall the place is great .

Burning the midnight oil

Well This was how I got an opportunity to teach some American morons , ans morons they were . Seeing an add about a part time job I landed to a place called Trans Web . Well somehow i got a chance to teach basic Physics and Maths online for 3 days .In fact i was working as a replacement for a staff on holiday . Well easy money i must confess however the time more suitable for people like Moli bhai and Dilli ( well 12 am to 5 am ).

The technical part is this you log on to the site www.thinkingstrom.com. I was given an id to login and students also logged on here . All you have to do was just teach them using chat and pen tablets . Ya we kept track of the place where they logged from and all were from U.S.

The most interesting part is how foolish they were . some 20 year moron enrolled for a higher algebra course and asking me rounding off a no and rationalizing . Well total give up people , some were giving an online test and just wanted an answer . However it did not matter much some hard earned money for weekends was all that I needed.

Delhi 2

Ansal Plaza

A perfect hangout destination in Delhi, it is built in a circular fashion around an amphitheater with a center stage. Different cultural functions are organized here from time to time, such as fashion shows, live band performances and performing arts to promote the retail area. One can access the retail floors of the complex through lifts and escalators. The 45-feet high atrium with a French glass curtain wall that filters out ultraviolet and other harmful radiation is visually appealing.

Books to read

Well already read two books this summer and really both were great .

A Thousand Splendid Sun's : Khaled Hosseini

It intends to deal with the plight of women in Afghanistan . Focuses on mothers and daughters, and friendships between women. It brings out clearly hoe the women are downtrodden in Afghanistan and reading we get the impression that even women are treated worse than cattle there .Overall a masterpiece and a fast running story which depicts the hardships of woman as a mother , wife , daughter and a friend .

We the living : Ayn Rand

First book of this author . Another masterpiece which deals with a womans passion , Objective and struggle in adverse conditions . Also it depicts the political situation in russia during the period the book was written . The language is great and enjoyed this thrilling novel very much .

School days

Well generally it is the end semester times when i really want to blog .However this one came out instantaneous as I was thinking of the upcoming summer holidays which reminded me of my last winter holidays . Well i was a regular bunker in my school days ( : the one who went out of house to school but headed to a pre decided spot ) .I along with my school buddies visited many places to name a few ( rukka dam , Deer park etc .) , also sometimes a long cycle ride and occasional movies . So i traveled down the memory line and visited all these places and my school during the holidays .

This reminded me of the movie " Dil to pagal hai ." because this was the first time i was caught bunking due to the bulb of one of my dearest sardar friend .

I went to school by the daily school bus , and used it to my advantage according to the situation.Like if i wanted to study at home or may be there was some problem at school then i would knowingly miss the school bus , come back home , hear a lecture from my parents and thats it " it's a holiday ". The other one being , miss the bus and get your cycle with the added advantage of getting some 2 to 3 bucks in case there was some puncture or things on road .So that was it I missed the bus that day and happily took the cycle .[(:]plus some 3 rs bonus . Rest of the needed 12 bucks came from the money i saved on buying vegetables , after all it was genuine as i was helping mom and so a rupee here or there is all right .

Next phase was to dress up without people noticing you and dumping the bag . Well this place also varied with the place we are going to .That day it was necessary to dump the school bag and dress up into normal t shirts .For this situation the rescue man was the pujari of a temple near by who was may be 20 years of age but very friendly to me and joined us in cricket games too.Another important thing was to carry a polythene bag for keeping the lunch box and water , as no extra expenses were possible on eating .Also a cap was useful to hide your identity .

The next cycle was the most adventurous , reaching destination without meeting someone from the colony , father's friend and most important any one related to school . So that was it , i took all the very less traveled roads increasing my distance and time . However time was not an issue because anyhow i had to spend sometime in stadium watching people play , possibly the best time pass without people noticing a 14 year old .

Then things were simpler we had to fight for the cheap tickets as they were limited in number and the whole plan's success was governed by it .Also there was an added advantage of standing in the line at the front row because it acted as a cover . So that was it get the tickets , enter the theater boldly , have lunch in the interval , follow back the same route and come back home and narrate the usual daily happenings of the day to mom (which I cooked up on the return way ).

I met my principal in the winter holidays and he still remembered this prank and his American way of pronouncing " DDil To Pagaal hai " always brings a smile .

Those were the days I sometimes miss the most and a travel back to these places reminded of the happy school days .

Till I am no one again

Every desire in life is just because you are someone . You are expected of doing something . It happens all through our lives . Sometimes I feel that your very name robs you of yourself . It's really amazing how one becomes a name and remains a name . I want to be no one , because i am no one . Everything in this world is a myth . All are soldiers just given a number ( may be in our case a name ) . People fight for a name . Every one wants to be known as someone .
Sometimes i pray god to grant me power so that i may make sense to myself .

Coach carter

Saw The movie called coach carter , Really great .Especially inspiring was a quote by Timo Cruz "Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness, that most frightens us. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine as children do. It's not just in some of us; it is in everyone. And as we let our own lights shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others"
Friend's a must watch movie for all sport's enthusiats.

Live Life King Size

Well was just going through my photographs folder i came across this pic and soon I time traveled to that room .Oh so happy we were , 16 people dancing and singing in joy .The glitter in the eyes , the hearty laughs reminds me of spring . People find various means to make them happy but somehow they don't get happiness in true sense .It's sort of delusion of happiness . But such moments where we forget everything give ' s feeling of eternal bliss .At least on that day we lived one fantastic day of our lives .

The E-cigarette

  • It contains no tar , no carbon monoxide and no cancer causing chemicals.
  • an electronic substitute in the form of a rod, slightly longer than a normal cigarette
  • The changeable filter contains a liquid with nicotine and propylene glycol.
  • When the user inhales as he would when smoking, air flow is detected by a sensor and a micro-processor activates an atomizer.
  • The atomizer injects tiny droplets of the liquid into the flowing air, producing a vapour.
  • You are simply inhaling and exhaling water vapour with the added advantage of a replacement capsule if required!

Social Networks

Came across a survey of various social networks used all over world. At least in this case there is as such no market leader . Case is very much of publicity , people at various places have stuck in to various networks and then continue using that network .
Orkut is popular in India , Pakistan and South American countries. However North America , Australia are mostly governed by My space.

Life's like that

It was one of those days when nothing went right for me . To start with an early morning humiliation in the class . Followed by rain where i messed up my new trousers. spilled hot tea in the mess , kupped a lot in footer followed by some hard words . While going to mess stepped in a puddle of mud and finally had to stand in a long queue for two parathas in the mess. It's 9 p.m. only now i wonder what else can happen , anyways i am not coming out of room .

Jack and Jill

I was thinking lately to do a spoof on Jack and Jill (though i will come up with it later ).So i just put Google for it and was amazed to find that it was a long poem of which one verse was famous .Even one of my friend who turned in my room did not know about it so i thought let's do justice to our childhood rhyme .So i present here the whole poem .

Jack and Jill went up the hill
To fetch a pail of water.
Jack fell down and broke his crown,
And Jill came tumbling after.

Up Jack got and home did trot
As fast as he could caper;
And went to bed and covered his head
In vinegar and brown paper.

Then up Jack got and home did trot
As fast as he could caper;
To Old Dame Dob who patched his nob
With vinegar and brown paper.

When Jill came in how she did grin
To see Jack's paper plaster;
Mother vexed, did whip her next,
For causing Jack's disaster.

Now Jack did laugh and Jill did cry
But her tears did soon abate;
Then Jill did say that they should play
At see-saw across the gate.
