School days

Well generally it is the end semester times when i really want to blog .However this one came out instantaneous as I was thinking of the upcoming summer holidays which reminded me of my last winter holidays . Well i was a regular bunker in my school days ( : the one who went out of house to school but headed to a pre decided spot ) .I along with my school buddies visited many places to name a few ( rukka dam , Deer park etc .) , also sometimes a long cycle ride and occasional movies . So i traveled down the memory line and visited all these places and my school during the holidays .

This reminded me of the movie " Dil to pagal hai ." because this was the first time i was caught bunking due to the bulb of one of my dearest sardar friend .

I went to school by the daily school bus , and used it to my advantage according to the situation.Like if i wanted to study at home or may be there was some problem at school then i would knowingly miss the school bus , come back home , hear a lecture from my parents and thats it " it's a holiday ". The other one being , miss the bus and get your cycle with the added advantage of getting some 2 to 3 bucks in case there was some puncture or things on road .So that was it I missed the bus that day and happily took the cycle .[(:]plus some 3 rs bonus . Rest of the needed 12 bucks came from the money i saved on buying vegetables , after all it was genuine as i was helping mom and so a rupee here or there is all right .

Next phase was to dress up without people noticing you and dumping the bag . Well this place also varied with the place we are going to .That day it was necessary to dump the school bag and dress up into normal t shirts .For this situation the rescue man was the pujari of a temple near by who was may be 20 years of age but very friendly to me and joined us in cricket games too.Another important thing was to carry a polythene bag for keeping the lunch box and water , as no extra expenses were possible on eating .Also a cap was useful to hide your identity .

The next cycle was the most adventurous , reaching destination without meeting someone from the colony , father's friend and most important any one related to school . So that was it , i took all the very less traveled roads increasing my distance and time . However time was not an issue because anyhow i had to spend sometime in stadium watching people play , possibly the best time pass without people noticing a 14 year old .

Then things were simpler we had to fight for the cheap tickets as they were limited in number and the whole plan's success was governed by it .Also there was an added advantage of standing in the line at the front row because it acted as a cover . So that was it get the tickets , enter the theater boldly , have lunch in the interval , follow back the same route and come back home and narrate the usual daily happenings of the day to mom (which I cooked up on the return way ).

I met my principal in the winter holidays and he still remembered this prank and his American way of pronouncing " DDil To Pagaal hai " always brings a smile .

Those were the days I sometimes miss the most and a travel back to these places reminded of the happy school days .
